We won IAMTN’s 2015 Digital Money Transfer Model Award

We built this business to make it easier for people living abroad to connect with their families, friends and lives back home. Our greatest reward is hearing about the positive impact each transaction is making all over the world – whether it’s putting a child through school, helping a sibling pay off their mortgage or covering groceries for aging parent’s – it’s the reason we get out of bed every day. The icing on the cake is when every now and then our peers recognise the hard-work we’ve been up to.

That’s why we’re proud to say that the only global money transfer body, International Association for Money Transfer (IAMTN) has awarded us the 2015 IAMTN Digital Money Transfer Award, out of more than a hundred applicants.

Announced during FinTech Week 2015 at a special ceremony during the Global Money Transfer Summit, the award was given to the company that demonstrated superior innovation and business sustainability. As IAMTN is the only international trade organisation that represents the money transfer industry and payment institutions globally, it’s a huge honour to be recognised. We have been committed to building the most robust digital-only network which allows anyone in 20 European countries to send money home in various forms including: bank, cash, mobile top-up, mobile wallet or home delivery. But also, delivering an excellent service that remains fair, transparent and low-cost for our customers.

Our founder and CEO Michael Kent was there to receive the award and had this to say:

“We’re in an industry that is making a huge impact on the world by bridging the gap between migrants and their families. Up against a field of global players, being selected for this award by our peers is an honour and a testament to the hard-working Azimo team that puts our customers at the heart of everything we do.”

IAMTN Chairman Mohit Davar commented on why Azimo won this award:

“Digital money transfer like Azimo are rapidly disrupting our multi-billion dollar industry. Azimo was a clear winner in it’s category as in three short years, It’s built a truly global network and scaled exponentially. With it’s founding team’s expertise, Azimo will only continue to scale at a rapid pace.”

This award is added to a growing list of accolades, which earlier this year included the United Nations recognising us as one of the best valued money transfer services in Europe.

We’ll keep working hard to bring you the best possible service, so stay tuned for more!
