National Heroes Day

National Heroes Day celebrates some of the people who helped the Philippines to grow as a nation, but not all Filipino heroes are famous.

Thousands of Filipinos live abroad send money home to support their loved ones. From medical expenses to mortgage payments, school fees to savings, every peso makes a difference.

We’re celebrating National Heroes Day by recognising the heroes who support their friends and family by sending money with Azimo. Throughout August we’ll be giving away amazing prizes, including flights home, on our Facebook page.

We also spoke to Juanito and Irish about their experience sending money home to the Philippines with Azimo, here’s what they had to say:

Juanito

“Moving to the UK was a big decision. I started working here in 2016 and I love seeing how happy my family are when I send them money via Azimo. It allows me to feel close to them even though I’m thousands of miles away from the Philippines. My mum really wanted to buy a new house, and finally she’s been able to do that. Now she’s always smiling when we speak.”

Irish

“Working abroad is never an easy journey. You have to live alone and adjust to entirely new surroundings. There is a lot of sacrifice involved. I missed many of my daughter’s milestones because I work here to give her the opportunities she deserves. Azimo is really helpful, it’s easy, convenient and reliable. They have low transfer fees and my family can collect the money from Cebuana Lhuillier less than 20 minutes after I send it. Thank you so much, Azimo. God bless and more power.”

For your chance to win some amazing prizes throughout August, keep your eye on Azimo’s Facebook page. And remember, your first two transfers to the Philippines with Azimo are fee-free.
